About Rishika

Rishika joined the team at Godfreys Law in June 2026. Rishika brings experience across a broad range of legal areas, including property, commercial and private client matters. She enjoys helping clients navigate complex legal matters in a clear and accessible way, assisting with conveyancing transactions, drafting and reviewing commercial agreements and providing legal advice across a range of areas.

Rishika holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Biological Sciences) from the University of Canterbury. She has a keen interest in technology and artificial intelligence and was part of the inaugural cohort of Bond University's The Breakthrough Lawyer programme, which focused on the practical application of generative AI in legal practice.

Rishika enjoys staying active through Pilates and exploring Canterbury's hiking and tramping trails. During winter, you'll usually find her snowboarding at Mt Hutt. She also enjoys gardening, and travelling to different countries, learning about different cultures, and discovering new cuisines.

Her position as Deputy Convenor of the New Lawyers' Committee for the NZLS Canterbury-Westland Branch keep Rishika busy outside of the office, and she is currently the only lawyer listed as a fluent Hindi speaker in the Canterbury region. Rishika's ability to speak Hindi and read and write Devanagari enables her to build strong connections with a diverse range of clients and communities throughout Canterbury, providing legal services that are accessible and culturally responsive.
