About Mikayla

Mikayla joined Godfreys Law in August 2024 as a Law Clerk while completing her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Canterbury. In June 2026, Mikayla was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and is now working as a Solicitor in our Employment and Commercial teams.

Mikayla chose to study law because she wanted a career centred around helping people. Through her studies and work at Godfreys Law, she has developed particular interests in commercial, contract and employment law, while continuing to build experience across a range of practice areas including relationship property and litigation.

Mikayla brings a practical, approachable and client-focused mindset to her work, and enjoys seeing how legal advice can make a real difference for people and businesses.

Outside of the office, Mikayla is actively involved in the community, volunteering as a trustee of the Life Education Trust Canterbury. Away from law, she enjoys getting outdoors, whether that be playing netball, volleyball, surfing, running, or attending festivals with her friends.
