Godfreys Law is proud to be a sponsor of the Canterbury Women’s Legal Association’s Professional Women’s Conference, happening on 31 July 2025 at the Christchurch Town Hall. Sally Cunneen one of our directors will be talking about her professional and personal journey to join the directorship of Godfreys Law.
As children, many of us had preconceived ideas about what our futures would look like. But as we’ve grown, we've seen those expectations challenged — and often, rightfully discarded. No longer should women be confined to traditional roles or under-represented in leadership. Yet despite women making up over 50% of law graduates, we remain under-represented in senior positions in law firms, at the bar, in the judiciary, and across the broader private sector.
This year’s conference theme, “Breaking the mould: Redefining norms and challenging stereotypes,” encourages us to do exactly that — to redefine what’s normal, challenge the status quo, and carve out space for authenticity, ambition, and equity.
We’re excited to support this remarkable speaker line-up featuring Nadia Lim, Brooke Roberts (Sharesies), Pete Burdon, Renee Walker, and Tracey Minnoch — all of whom have broken norms in their own journeys and will inspire us to do the same.
This event is open to all female professionals and not specifically lawyer. If you are interested in attending further details can be found on the CWLA website.
Save the date and don’t miss this empowering opportunity to connect, learn, and grow.
