This week we are proudly celebrating a series of remarkable milestones achieved by one of our directors, the one and only Brad McDonald. Not only does 2025 mark his 25th anniversary working with Godfreys Law, but it also coincides with five years and 100 episodes of his popular Real Solutions Business podcast.
25 years with Godfreys Law
Brad joined Godfreys in 2000 straight from law school, bringing with him his strong commitment to practical, client focussed advice that is still present to this day (unlike his hair…). Over the past 25 years, Brad has guided countless individuals and businesses alike through complex legal challenges, always with calm, strategic focus that has earned him respect from colleagues and clients across the years. No matter what is going on at the office, Brad has always had the time to give back to his Canterbury community, having volunteered countless hours to Community Law, Life Education Trust Canterbury, and more recently the Youth Hub.
Brad’s unparalleled leadership has helped shape Godfreys culture and dedication to consistently delivering real results for our clients, whether this is untangling tricky legal issues, or helping clients see a way forward in a hard time. These same qualities shines through in The Real Solutions Business Podcast, the business podcast Brad launched five years ago to share his easy-to-understand insights from the world of law, business, and leadership.

The Real Solutions Business podcast, launched amidst the COVID-19 lockdown, extends Brad’s ethos beyond our office walls to the business community where it matters most. Through down to earth conversations and expert guest insights, he has built a platform that brings clarity to many common issues faced by Kiwi business owners.
100 episodes of Real Solutions
Brad has just released the 100th episode of the Real Solutions Business Podcast. This places Brad in a fairly select group of podcasters (approximately 5% of all podcasters globally) who reach such a milestone. The podcast represent Brad’s passion for sharing business knowledge and know how to empower others. Each episode reflects the values that have defined Brad’s career from the day he joined Godfreys: practicality, honesty, and a commitment to getting the best outcome for his clients.
