Hear ye, hear ye! The art of communicating in plain English hath not always been of great importance in the legal profession. In times of yore, lawyers did use archaic language in legal documents to signify their knowledge and importance. But alas, this did lead to many a misunderstanding and confusion among layfolk. Now, however, the use of plain English in legal documents is of utmost importance. Verily, it is a legal duty to ensure that legal documents are written in plain English.

In this modern age, it is of great import to use words that are easily understood by all. Aye, lawyers who use archaic language in legal documents are seen as haughty and confusing to those who must read them. Forsooth, legal documents should be written in language that is easy to understand for the common folk. 'Tis not only an act of kindness, but also a legal obligation to do so.

Moreover, legal documents that are written in plain English do not only help layfolk understand their legal rights and obligations, but also helps lawyers to avoid costly and time-consuming legal disputes. It is oft the case that disputes arise because of misunderstandings in legal documents, and the use of plain English can help to prevent such misunderstandings.

In conclusion, the use of plain English in legal documents is a legal duty that should be taken seriously by all lawyers. No longer is it acceptable to use archaic language that is difficult to understand. Instead, lawyers should strive to use language that is clear and concise, so that all may understand their legal rights and obligations. So mote it be!
